PURPOSE:To follow up change in power consumption and achieve a preset amount of generation in a short time by directly controlling the amount of fuel gas supplied to a fuel cell in response to change in load. CONSTITUTION:A naphtha supply conduit 2 and a steam supply conduit 3 are connected to a reforming furnace 1, which reforms steam, to supply naphtha as hydrogen manufacturing material and steam thereto, respectively. Hydrogen gas created in reforming steam is supplied through the conduit 6 to a fuel cell 7 as fuel gas. In the fuel cell 7, hydrogen gas supplied and oxygen in the air are given oxidative reaction via electrolyte to obtain generated electricity as d.c.current. An ammeter 13 as a power detecting means is connected to the output side of the fuel cell to detect power consumption on the load side in accordance with a detected value. A control signal is formed to control the amount of material supplied to the reforming furnace in accordance with detected power consumption as well as to control the amount of fuel gas sup plied to the fuel cell in accordance with the detected power consumption, and directly controls the amount o fuel gas supplied to the fuel cell in accordance with the control signal. |
