Seat belt-deviating fitting - has normal condition-deviating roller collapsing after deceleration leaving belt on rigid web

The deviating fitting of a three point anchorage belt system leads the diagonal belt over a pulley fitted on a retractable bracket assembly sliding in a guide section fixed to the car body. The pulley (9) is on a support (11) mounted on the retractable bracket (4) by a clip device. The belt (8) is led over this pulley during normal travel conditions through a slot (7) in the bracket (4) and connects to a retractor mechanism. Following a sudden deceleration of the vehicle the ensuing excess forces acting on the belt (8) cause the support (11) to collapse and the belt (8) comes to rest on a rigid web (13) next to the slot (7).
