PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for an electrophotographic developer which has good mechanical strength, durability, environmental stability and excellent capability to impart charges to a toner while hardly yielding a by-product in manufacture, and to provide an image forming method using the carrier. SOLUTION: The carrier for an electrophotographic developer is formed by dispersing a magnetic powder in binder resin, wherein the binder resin uses, as principal starting materials, a polysiloxane compound (A) having an epoxy group as a functional group and a polysiloxane compound (B) having a group which is capable of having a ring opening addition reaction with the epoxy group of the polysiloxane compound (A), and the binder resin is silicone resin cured by ring opening addition reaction of the epoxy resin. The developer consists of the carrier for an electrophotographic developer and toner particles.
