PURPOSE:To obtain stronger uniform additive coatings on toner particles by keeping a mixed dispersion contg. the toner particles and an additive having smaller particle size than the toner particles at a temp. above the glass transition point of synthetic resin forming the toner particles, carrying out stirring and coating the toner particles with the additive. CONSTITUTION:Toner particles and an additive such as flowability rendering agent or an electrostatic charge controlling agent are dispersed and suspended in a solvent such as water under proper conditions with a surfactant, etc. The resulting dispersion is heated to a temp. above the glass transition point or softening point of synthetic resin forming the toner particles, moderate stirring is carried out and the surfaces of the toner particles are coated with the additive. The coated toner particles are dehydrated and dried. Uniform surface treatment of the toner with high accuracy is enabled. |
