The information system uses a measuring station. A number of sensors are interrogated at regular intervals to provide data which is temporarily stored, each new measurement updating the previous data. The data held in the memory is transmitted upon reception of an incoming request to a reception station via the telephone network, with visual representation of the received weather data at the reception station. Pref. the weather data is transmitted as acoustic serial signals. ADVANTAGE - Ensures provision of accurate weather data.
