Devices for stretching running material webs sideways, especially paper webs, are known which have roller-like and curved width stretching components in the winding region which are pivotably coupled in a frame at a distance from one another. In order to facilitate a reproducible adjustment dependently upon the material web parameters with only one adjustment parameter, the widthways stretching components (4, 5) are according to the invention secured to the coupling member (10, 16) of an articulated rectangle, whereby both drive levers (9, 15) of the articulated rectangles are interconnected to pivot in the same direction via a gear (20, 21, 22).
