Digital transmission path quality parameter evaluation system

The evaluation system uses a measuring signal inserted in a digital data stream with a cellular configuration, each cell having a usable zone occupied by the data. The measuring signal comprises a series of test cells, the usable zone of each occupied by a test pattern containing a given number of bits, with evaluation of the measuring signal after propagation along the transmission path. This is effected by the auto-correlation function of the test pattern approximately to a Dirac pulse. The position of the test pattern in the usable zones of the test cells is varied within the test cell series without repetition.
