Testing and selection of human endo-joint-prosthesis - by applying forces radially and measuring bone extensions before and after implantation in human synthetic or animal joint, esp. for hips

The method involves preparing a human, synthetic or animal joint and fixing the bounding bones (4,6) relative to each other. A defined, measured, axial force is then applied to the bones, the resulting extension of the bones measured and a similar measurement is then made after implantation of a joint prosthesis at the same joint. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for testing and selecting prosthetic hip joints. Enables manufacturer to test quality of joint as well as suitability for intended type of recipient.
