A device for measuring pH of a pressurised fluid comprises a cylinder 1 containing a piston 15 at one side of which the sample is to be introduced via inlet 12, and a probe 4 for sensing pH of the sample. Pressurised fluid is applied to the other side of the piston to maintain the sample under pressure and a bleed value 14 allows gas from the sample under pressure to be removed.
