<p>PURPOSE:To attain a target width on the outlet side of a roughing mill by detecting width and temp. of sheet at a pass in the process of rolling and correcting a set value by calculating the set value for the vertical mill at the final pass based on the detected width and temp. using a estimating formula for width. CONSTITUTION:A detecting means 4 for width with which the width on the outlet side of the roughing mill 3 in rolling of a pass before the final pass is detected, detecting means 5 for temp. with which the temp. is detected, estimating means 7 for width with which the width at a pass after the detected values from both detecting means 4, 5 are inputted is estimated and correcting means 8 with which the estimated value at the final pass that is estimated with the estimating means 7 for width is inputted are provided. The set value of the vertical mill 2 at the final pass for attaining the target width on the outlet side of the roughing mill 3 is calculated backward using the estimated value at the final pass, the target thickness on the outlet side of the roughing mill 3 and estimating formula for thickness with the correcting means 8. And the rolling quantity of the vertical mill 2 is corrected based on this set value.</p> |
