The invention relates to reinforcing pieces constituted by plates made of cast alloyed steel which are attached by welding to the wear piece. According to the invention, each plate (A) includes, at least in its zone of attachment to the wear piece (B), and embedded in the material of which it is composed, an insert (2) made of weldable material, at least some parts of which are flush with the face to be welded against the piece to be protected. In one embodiment, the insert is constituted by an undulated sheet (2) made of weldable steel, the edge of which is flush with the rear face (1) of the plate intended to come up against the worn face (7) of the wear piece, and the waves of which include flat (straight) top parts (3) along the extension of the side faces (4) of the said plate and constituting a zone for the bonding, by welding, of this plate to the wear piece. <IMAGE>
