摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition improved in tensile properties and low-temperature brittleness by mixing a vinyl chloride resin with an aromatic hydrocarbon/formaldehyde resin specified in viscosity, number-average mol.wt., oxygen content, etc., in a specified mixing ratio. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic hydrocarbon/formaldehyde resin having properties including a viscosity of 15-150000 cP (20 deg.C), a number-average mol.wt. of 250-700 and an oxygen content of 5-15wt.% is produced by, for example, reacting a 7-9C aromatic hydrocarbon (e.g. toluene) with formaldehyde. 100 pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin (e.g. polyvinyl chloride or vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer) is mixed with 0.1-5 pts.wt. this resin. The obtained vinyl chloride resin composition can be desirably used for automobile undercoatings or packings, etc., requiring both hardness and strength in a wide temperature range.
