PURPOSE:To form a recording image of high quality having high recording sensitivity at high speed, in a thermosensitive recording medium having a thermosensitive color forming layer containing a colorless or light-colored leuco dye and a developer, by adding at least one kind of a specific cinnamic ester compound to the thermosensitive color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermosensitive recording medium having a sheet like support and the thermosensitive color forming layer formed to at least one surface of the sheet like support and containing a colorless or light-colored leuco dye and the developer reacting with the leuco dye under heating to develop a color, the thermosensitive color forming layer contains at least one kind of a cinnamic ester compound represented by formula [I]. The use amount of the cinnamic ester compound is set to 10-1000% by wt. of the developer and the content of the leuco dye in the thermosensitive color forming layer is generally set to 5-20wt.% and the content of the developer therein is generally set to 10-40wt.%. This thermosensitive recording medium is excellent in high speed recording aptitude and has high whiteness and causes no undesirable phenomenon such as whitening and has a property extremely well-balanced from the aspect of quality. |
