Provided is a reactor that is capable of being maintained in a secured state with respect to an installation target, and with which a magnetic core is not readily damaged. The reactor comprises an assembly of a coil and a magnetic core disposed inside and outside the coil and forming a closed magnetic path, wherein, of the magnetic core, an outer core portion disposed outside the coil is formed from a composite material comprising a resin with a magnetic material powder dispersed therein, and wherein the reactor includes a bolt opening for insertion of a bolt for securing the assembly onto the installation target, and is provided with a flat plate member fastened onto the outer core portion by the bolt and disposed in such a manner as to expose the coil.
