The present invention relates to a thermal imagery device comprising a pyroelectric layer arranged between a first and a second electrode structure so as to define a network of pyroelectric detector image elements. According to the invention a photoconductor means (7) for electrically coupling one of the first and second electrode structures (3, 5) with an additional electrode structure (9), and a means (11) of illumination for illuminating the photoconducting means (7) so as to allow a pyroelectric charge supplied by the pyroelectric detector image elements (A, B, C) to be addressed by means of the additional electrode structure (9).
