<p>PURPOSE:To uniform variation in sent peak electric power with temperature by providing a temperature sensor in an antenna and controlling the number of transmission/reception modules according to its temperature signal. CONSTITUTION:The required electric power of the radar depends upon the sent peak power, i.e. the sent peak power of individual transmission/reception modules 3. The number of modules 3 which operate in the active array antenna 1 needs to be controlled according to the temperature so as to make the necessary electric power not depend upon the sent peak power. The number of modules 3 in use is set under the control of a system control monitor circuit 11. The circuit 11 determines the number of modules in use according to the temperature signal of the temperature sensor 9 sent through an array antenna control monitor circuit 10 so that the sent peak power becomes constant for the number of all modules 3 in the antenna 1. Then the circuit 11 turns on and off the individual modules 3 through the circuit 10.</p> |
