<p>PURPOSE:To enable the recording and reproducing at various recording track angles by varying a helical angle. CONSTITUTION:As under an initial state, plural guide members (columnar guides) 17 are arranged to have an angle theta0 with a line parallel to an end surface of a fixed drum 12. When a signal is reproduced from a tape recorded at a recording track angle theta1 under this state, a recording/reproducing mode corresponding to the angle theta1 is selected by a mode selecting switch 21. By operating this switch 21, information about a moving amt. of the guides 17 is supplied to an actuator driving circuit 20. A DC voltage to be impressed upon each actuator 19 is varied individually according to the information about this moving amt. by the circuit 20. By this method, the individual actuators 19 are moved in the axial direction of the drum 12 by a required amt. respectively and clamped. Under this state, a signal recorded on a track having the recording track angle theta1 can correctly be reproduced to suit the helical angle theta1, and also a signal can be recorded along such a track.</p> |
