PURPOSE:To allow recording by a semiconductor laser and to obtain the optical recording medium having high preservable stability by using a specific photochromic material. CONSTITUTION:The photochromic material expressed by formula I is used. In the formula I, R1, R2 denote hydrogen or alkyl group. The photochromic material of the formula I is a compd. having a nitro group in the 5'- position and 6- position of spiropyran skeleton, an alkyl group in the 1'- position, and alkanoyloxymethyl group in the 8- position. The material has the sensitivity in a semiconductor laser region and the colored body thereof is stable. The optical recording material formed by using this photochromic material has the high stability of the colored body and can be recorded by the semiconductor laser. |
