The miniature safe (3) is installed under the counter (2) in a shop, garage, etc, near the normal till. The user inserts (V) the unfolded note (W) into the narrow horizontal gap (8), between two metal plates. The user then presses down a lever (9) at the side of the safe. The lever causes a cylindrical bar (11) to press the middle of the note through a slot (10) in the top of the cash box. The note is folded down the middle as its passes through the slot and pushed to the back of the cash box. The cash box can only be opened by a key which is not kept near the till.
