PURPOSE:To obtain a laser driver with simple constitution by starting up or stopping a current source to supply driving currents for recording and erasure in the reserve of an optical disk. CONSTITUTION:The reproduction of a preceding (N-1)th sector is performed by supplying a comparatively low driving current to a laser beam source 1 by driving the current source 2a for reproduction. The recording or erasure of a data part on the next(Nth) sector of the optical disk D is controlled in such a way that a beam is moved to the sector by rotating the optical disk D and the current source 2b for recording and erasure is started up after the reproduction of an address part 11 is completed, and a comparatively high driving current for recording and erasure can be supplied to the laser beam source 1 at a servo bit part 12 behind a reserve part 12. The reproduction of the data part 9 of an (N+1)th sector is performed by stopping the driving of the current source 2b for recording and erasure when the operation of the reserve part 12 is started after the reproduction of the address part 11 is performed. |
