<p>PURPOSE:To prevent empty burning of a heater and generation of hydrogen in view point of safety by a method wherein an oscillating part is provided on a tank, vibrations of the tank caused by the oscillating part are received, and power supply to the heater is started only when a received signal is a specified one. CONSTITUTION:A receiving part 10 receives vibrations of a tank 1 which is vibrated by an oscillating part 2 and transmits the vibrations to a control part 11. When the frequency of the vibration received by the receiving part 10 is a specified one, the control part 11 outputs a signal to supply power to a heater 3 and makes other controls of a hot water supplier. The oscillating part 2 is driven to vibrate the tank 1 when the temperature of water in the tank 1 is lower than a prescribed value, and the frequency of the vibration received by the receiving part 10 is checked against the inherent frequency of water. If the received frequency is other than that of water, it is determined that there is not water in the tank 1, and the heater 3 is turned OFF making a loop. On the contrary, if the received frequency is determined to be that of water, it is determined that there is some water in the tank 1 and there is no danger of empty burning, and the heater 3 is supplied with power thus establishing a loop.</p> |
