Fixture for pedestal of printed circuit connector part - utilises spike with collared sleeve around pin driven into aligned holes in pedestal and circuit board

The pedestal (2) is secured between a connector part and the printed circuit board (3) by means of a spike-shaped coupling element (6) which is fitted into holes (11, 12) in the respective members. This element has a single-ended spread sleeve (8) with a supporting collar (7) and a radial slot (16). A spread pin (10) is driven axially into a central channel (9) until its polygonal (esp. hexagonal) head (30) comes up against the collar (7) of the sleeve (8). ADVANTAGE - Fixture can be manipulated very easily and purposefully from one side only, for secure retention of pedestal.
