<p>A magnetic recording medium is provided with a first in-plane orientated magnetic substance layer (11) consisting of a needle-like ferromagnetic substance and a second in-plane oriented magnetic substance layer (12) made of powder of a hexagonal system ferromagnetic material which is formed upon the first layer.
