PURPOSE:To obtain a porous sheet which is adapted for various requirements for performances by forming a homogeneous mixture of a plastic powder with an inorganic compound powder or a metallic powder into a powder layer of a uniform thickness and fusing the plastic powder by heating. CONSTITUTION:A plastic powder is homogeneous mixed with an inorganic compound powder or a metallic powder. The obtained mixture is formed into a powder layer of a uniform thickness, and the plastic powder is fused by heating so as to form the purpose porous sheet of a porosity of 10% or above. The gaps among the particles of the powders, namely pores, should have a volume ratio of 10% or above. When it is below 10%, the sheet is lacking in the features of a porous material. The porosity is desirably 20-50%. An example of a process of good productivity comprises continuously feeding the mixed powder onto a moving belt to form a powder layer of a uniform thickness on it and continuously forming the layer into a sheet by passing it through a heating step. |
