AUTOMATIC MEASUREMENT INSTALLATION OF CAPACITY AND CAPACITY UNBALANCE AT TELEPHONE CABLES

The invention relates to an installation for automatic measurement of telephone cable capacitance and capacitance unbalance used during the final control stage in telephone cable manufacturing plants, as well as during the balancing stage after installation of telephone cables. The installation consists of two cable-connection and quad-switching devices and a connection device working as per the parameters measured at a given moment. A specialised computer controls all operations performed by these devices. The measurement of parameters is performed using an automatic tape controlled by the same computer. The transducers used are two special measuring transformers, one for capacitance, and the other for capacitance unbalance, operating under short circuit conditions. The measuring sinusoidal voltage is supplied by a frequency and amplitude highly stable sinusoidal voltage generator. The amplitude is controlled by the computer.
