PURPOSE:To heighten the deodorization ability at low temperature, catalytic function, and heat resistance by forming a zeolite layer on the surface of a refractory support and carrying a noble metal such as platinum, palladium, etc., on the zeolite layer. CONSTITUTION:A zeolite layer of an A-type zeolite, Y-type zeolite, etc., is formed on the surface of a refractory support such as cordierite-based and ferrite-based ceramic materials, etc. Then, a noble metal such as platinum, palladium rhodium, ruthenium, and iridium is carried on the zeolite layer. Using the zeolite layer as a noble metal carrying layer like this, irritating odor is efficiently absorbed even at low temperature and since catalytic seeds are highly dispersed, the catalytic function is improved and heat resistance and durability of the catalyst are heightened. |
