The invention relates to a racket for playing a ball game, including at least one small blade (paddle) 1, the inside 1a of which defines a plane 1a for striking the said ball and a handle at least 2 of which serves as a member for holding the said small blade 1 in order to hit the ball back. According to the invention, the abovementioned holding member 2 forming the handle is arranged on the back 1b of the striking plane of the abovementioned small blade 1 so as to be gripped in the palm of the hand so that the striking plane 1a of the small blade 1 is located arranged parallel to the second fingers of the hand, perpendicularly to the axis of the forearm. Advantageously, the abovementioned holding member 2 is disposed at a distance from the plane 1b of the abovementioned small blade 1 so as to free a space permitting the passage of the abovementioned fingers in order to grip the abovementioned holding member 2 inside the palm of the hand.
