A ball screw is intended here in which the balls (13) coacting with the screw (1) and running in helical threads (2) therein also run in parallel grooves of a raceway ring (4; 14; 15; 23; 109; 109 min ) arranged coaxially about the screw (1), said grooves (12; 12 min ; 112) extending perpendicularly to the axis (11) of the screw. Said ring is freely rotatably mounted but axially immobile in a nut element (3, 104, 105) arranged coaxially around the raceway ring. A ball cage (21) is arranged between the screw and the raceway ring and attached to the nut element (3).
