A continuous machine for cutting film tapes has at least one revolving roller with at least one cutter on its circumference which acts on the tape material as it runs over a backing roller at a tangent to the cutter roller. The shaft of the cutter roller is held by bearings on a tilting holder which is mounted on a vertical pressure cylinder acting in two directions; this cylinder is connected to a pressure system with valves and pressure regulators, so that the pressure in the chambers both sides of the piston can be independently adjusted. ADVANTAGE - The layout provides a fine and accurate adjustment for the cutter(s). It minimises wear on the cutter(s) and simplifies changing over the cutter(s).
