It is based on the greater utilization of the calorific energy which is lost with the smoke through the chimney, using this calorific energy for heating water for domestic use. It consists of two well-differentiated parts. Zone A is a place of passage for smoke and therefore for the supply of calorific energy. Zone B is a place for the passage and accumulation of water and therefore for receiving said energy. This heater replaces part of the chimney and is designed for use in boilers, heating cookers (ranges) and fireplaces. For greater safety and utilization of the calorific energy, it is equipped with a fire cut-off (fire damper, firebreak) 1; safety valve 5 and, optionally, an electrical resistance element 6, and a thermostat 2; in order to maintain the temperature at times when the chimney is not transmitting heat. In order to prevent heat losses, it is covered with a layer of heat-insulting material 9. <IMAGE>
