The actuating plate (2) of a drive rod fitting is attached to a support (3) such that the plate has a limited degree of linear movement. The support has a projection of T-shaped cross-section. The plate has an open-ended longitudinal slot (7) with inward facing claws (12) on the edges of the slot near the open end. The support is fitted to the plate so that the projection fits into the slot, with the flanges of the T-section projecting over the edges of the slot. The claws snap over the end of the projection and hold the two parts together.
