PURPOSE:To reduce the scratch and the wear of a magneto-optical recording medium and a floating head for the magneto-optical recording medium by applying a lubricant material to the bottom face of a head slider in contact with the magneto-optical recording medium among a head coil and the head slider. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant material e.g. a solid lubricant material 13 is applied to the bottom face of a head slider 11 at least in contact with a magneto-optical recording medium among the head coil part 12 and the slider part 11 or a hole is provided on the bottom face and a liquid lubricant oil is impregnated therein in a head coil 12 and the slider 11 in a floating head for magneto-optical recording provided with the slider 11 and the head coil 12 generating an external magnetic field to record information onto the magneto-optical recording medium. Thus, the head slider 11 and the magneto-optical recording medium are not in direct contact with each other and the smooth contact state is attained. Thus, the scratch and the wear of the magneto-optical recording medium are reduced. |
