The two halves of a pair of scissors (1) are fastened to each other by two bolts. One bolt has a tubular shank which receives the solid shank of the other bolt and the two bolts are locked to each other so that they cannot rotate relative to each other. The head of each bolt (16) has axial projections which engage recesses in its associated half scissors. The bolts can be moved axially so that in one position of the bolts the half scissor can rotte relative to each other and in the other position of the bolt the scissor halves can be locked to each other in the closed position.
