PURPOSE:To retain oxygen gas in a reactor until the utilization ratio reaches a prescribed level and to remarkably improve the utilization ratio of oxygen by carrying out the agitation of a culture liquid and the contact of gas and liquid using a horizontal shaft agitation blade. CONSTITUTION:The objective aerobic culture device has a horizontal closed structure as a whole and the culture liquid is agitated with agitation blades 3 attached to a horizontal shaft 2. Oxygen gas supplied to the reactor 1 can be retained in the reactor until the oxygen utilization ratio reaches a prescribed level and the oxygen utilization ratio can be remarkably improved by carrying out the agitation of the culture liquid and the contact of gas and liquid using the horizontal shaft agitation blades.
