A support for cables, or the like, includes a substantially rigid element (1) of channel-shaped cross-section open at the top such that it can be used as a support with a single hook. One flange (3) of the channel has a hole (6) and the other (5) has an elongate slit (11) extending perpendicularly to the channel in order to allow an auxiliary clamping element to be fastened rigidly to it, which auxiliary element may be fastened by a single screw the shank of which extends through the elongate slit (11). Preferably, there is an opening in the first wall of the channel opposite the slit, which remains accessible when the support is fitted, so that a flexible cable tie can be passed through this opening and through the slit (11) in order to fasten cables to the base of the support when required; this opening may be an elongate hole which also receives a fastening screw. <IMAGE>
