The invention relates to a fuel cell assembly (1), which has as core a base (2) which is penetrated by cavities (2H) and arranged on the surfaces (2A and 2B) of which there are a multiplicity of fuel cells (1Z), which are interconnected in series and parallel via conductor tracks (4). The base (2) is produced by means of an extrusion process. The conductor tracks (4) and insulating layers (6) are applied to its surfaces (2A and 2B) by screen printing and are permanently bonded to the base (2) by sintering.
