PURPOSE:To contrive to prevent a pollution in device due to scattering from a cleaning blade of unnecessary ink, etc., by arranging the ink-absorbing surface of an ink absorber in such manner that the ink-absorbing surface adjoins the surface of a recording head facing a recording paper and is almost on the same level with this surface. CONSTITUTION:When a recording head 3 passes in the direction of the arrow G in front of a cleaning blade 6, the cleaning blade 6 makes its shape bend to wipe and collect unnecessary ink, etc., 15 on an ink-absorbing surface 12a, facing surface 3a, discharge port surface 3f and facing surface 3a, and makes an ink-absorbing surface 11a absorb them. When the recoding head 3 ends recording and passes in the direction of the arrow H in front of the cleaning blade 6, the cleaning blade 6 makes the ink-absorbing surface 12a lastly absorb unnecessary ink, etc., 16, which the blade wipes and collects in the same manner as above.
