A pair of doors (16) are mounted on hinges (20) and swing through an arc to open and close an opening (12). Positioned in the ceiling above the door are halogen lamps (10) supplied from a control box (28). Located in line with the hinges and lamp points are switches, e.g. reed relays, that are activated when the door is in such a position that the lamp is directly over the edge of the door. In this position the lamp is switched off. ADVANTAGE - Reduces fire risk due to heating of wooden door.
