NEW MATERIAL:A substance having following physicochemical properties. molecular weight: 207; molecular formula: C8H17O5N; specific optical rotation: [alpha]=+1.5 deg. (c=0.57, H2O) ; melting point: 230-235 deg.C; color reaction: positive to ninhydrin reaction, negative to Sakaguchi reaction and coloring property of sugar is not exhibited in phenol-sulfuric acid reaction; solubility: soluble in water, hardly soluble in methanol or ethanol and insoluble in acetone, benzene, ether or hexane; appearance: colorless needle-like crystal, etc. USE:Used as antibiotics, herbicide or an inhibiting substance against glutamic acid-synthesizing enzyme. PREPARATION:A strain belonging to genus Coriolus such as Coriolus versicolor K-2078 (FERM P-11224) is cultured and the aimed substance is collected from resultant cultured strain. |
