PURPOSE: To hold allowable cloudiness level by incorporating a polymer containing metal particles for substantially absorbing an electromagnetic beam of a wavelength band of a specific range of an amount shorter than a reheating time of a polymer containing no particle of the amount in a reheating time of the polymer, thereby sufficiently reducing the reheating time. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a thermoplastic polymer composition containing a polymer including metal particles for substantially absorbing an electromagnetic beam of a wavelength of 500 to 2,000 nm is provided. This method has the steps of mixing a polymer containing fine particles of reducible metal compound with a reducing agent for reducing the compound to a metal, reacting the compound with the agent to generate fine particles of the metal. For example, during processing of the polymer, metal dispersed in the polymer by reacting the compound with the agent is formed. Particularly, if the polymer is a polyethylene terephthalate polymer (or copolymer), it is advantageous to mix the metallized compound and the agent with the polymer during the synthesis of the polymer. |
