摘要 PURPOSE:To restrain influence on an adjacent pixel by concentrating an electric field of the pixel by a method wherein a first and a second electrodes in an ion deriving area are made to be at the same electric potential and besides, a control circuit capable of being switched is formed in order to give potential difference between the first and the second electrodes in an ion nonderiving area. CONSTITUTION:When high voltage is impressed to a discharge wire 20 from a wire power source 52, an ion is generated in a chamber 18. Then, by blowing an air flow from above the chamber 18 into the chamber 18, the ion in the chamber 18 is irradiated on an electrostatic latent image acceptor 12 through a slit 30 provided to communicate with the chamber 18. In that case, switching elements 46, 47 of a control circuit 40 (a first control circuit 48 and a second control circuit 49) are switched based on image information and voltage corresponding to the image signal is impressed to each control electrode 34 and each counter electrode 35 opposed thereto. Thereby, an ion flow passing through the slit 30 is controlled to be charged onto the electrostatic latent image acceptor 12, and an electrostatic latent image is formed. Therefore, the ions are adhered to charge a charge receptor 54 without spreading.
