PURPOSE:To increase the output with reduced thickness by securing piezoelectric drive elements onto the opposite surfaces of a planar substrate arranged, symmetrically to the center, with a plurality of through-holes to be engaged with rods to be moved and then exciting the substrate and moving the rods linearly through complex resonance of surface direction mode and bending mode. CONSTITUTION:Upon application of an electric signal onto a piezoelectric element 2, sliders 4a, 4b slide abruptly upward through friction against the inner wall of through-holes 1a, 1b made through a substrate 1. On the contrary, application of signal is switched to the side of a piezoelectric element 3 when the sliders 4a, 4b are slided downward. Since the piezoelectric elements 2, 3 are polarized with same polarity, phase in the longitudinal direction mode remains as it is and only the bending mode phase is reversed. Since the sliding direction of the sliders 4a, 4b can be switched by simply switching power supply between the piezoelectric elements 2, 3, driving circuit can be simplified. |
