The support includes, between the rims 10, 11 of internal 1 and external 2 reinforcing members, rigid elements 9, for example in the form of spherical steel balls, which confers very high transverse rigidity to this support, namely as regards loads tending to urge the reinforcing members 1, 2 transversely with respect to each other. In contrast, in the longitudinal direction, that is to say horizontally and perpendicular to the preceding one, the rigidity is very low, owing to the rolling and/or sliding of the elements 9 between these rims 10, 11. The vertical rigidity afforded by the elastomeric block 6 is average. The rigid elements may thus consist of blocks secured to one of the reinforcing members. <IMAGE>
