PURPOSE:To prevent the leakage of a radio wave, the ohmic loss, or the like and to reduce the cost by forming a rectangular waveguide only with bending work so that a joint formed in the axial direction of the waveguide is provided along the center of the wider face other than a radiation plate. CONSTITUTION:Slots 12 are punched in a plane plate of a conductor to which the rectangular waveguide is developed, and the plane plate is bent at four folds 14 in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction and has end parts joined by a joint 13. When TE01 wave as the fundamental mode flows in a waveguide 11 for radiation constituted in this manner, the current flowing across the joint 13 does not occur because the surface current on a rear wider face 11b flows in the axial direction in the vicinity of the joint 13 on this face 11B. That is, the degradation in performance of the waveguide does not occur even in the case of poor electric connection or complete electric disconnection as long as the joint 13 is placed in the center of the rear face 11b as one wider face. |
