NEW MICROORGANISM STRETOMYCES SPY-183

摘要

A hydantoinase is prepd. by culturing streptomyces sp Y-183, KCTC 8450P (I) in the medium fermentation medium pref. contg. 0.3% dihydrouracil and purifying the hydantoinase from the fermented cell. The strain produces a hydantoinase having much higher enzyme activity than conventional hydantoinase producing strains. It gives economic industrial prodn. of D-N-carbamyl amino acid, an intermediate substance for the synthesis of beta-lactam antibiotics. The hydantoinaise has a relative specific activity of 90% or higher to DL-5-phenyl hydantoin and DL-5-(p-hydroxyphenyl) hydantoin.
