Sports area surface is formed of a layer of loose mineral garins coated with a polymeric material. The mineral grains are coated with a liq. polymeric compsn. which is allowed to solidify. The coated grains are poured or sprayed onto the surface to be covered, or onto a layer, such as a pile fabric, partially submerging the pile.
