BIOLOGICAL DEODORIZATION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To permit deodorizing operation to be continued without bringing about any rise in pressure loss by a method wherein the lower part of a filler layer supporting therein the microorganisms for decomposing malodorous components is sprinkled with water to remove element-like sulfur accumulated therein. CONSTITUTION:A treatment tower 1 is provided in its interior with a filler layer 2 supporting therein the microorganisms for decomposing malodorous components and a water sprinkling device 3 for sprinkling water over the filler layer 2 from above in order for the layer to be supplied with water and cleaned, whereby an upward stream of the malodorous gas is produced through the layer 2 for deodorization. The lower part of the filler layer 2 is sprinkled with water by a water sprinkling device 5 to remove element-like sulfur accumulated therein. As a result, the sulfur liberated at the lower part of the filler layer 2 is effectively prevented from the residual accumulation therein and the operation can be continued without bringing about any rise in pressure loss.
