This metal shelving comprises shelves (8) intended to be mounted horizontally and removably on hooks (6a) attached to vertical components standing on the ground and positioned transversely between the shelves to form the vertical skeleton of the shelving. These components consist of sheet metal panels (1) whose width is equal to the depth of the shelves and whose vertical edges are bent upon themselves to form legs (2) forming a general T shape or the like in cross section. In this way these legs comprise, from both sides of the corresponding panel, lateral flanges at right angles to the panel which will prevent any slippage of the horizontal shelves (8). The design of the skeletal components of the present shelving system is such that they can be manufactured by simple sheet-bending and drawing [bordering] operations.
