PURPOSE:To shorten an image processing time by a method wherein at the reception of image data from an external device, an image forming medium in a contained state is fetched and moved to the vicinity of the position of an image forming means. CONSTITUTION:With the reception of a print command, a print request is reset. A cassette paper feed clutch 309 is changed over by controlling a mechanism part drive circuit 306, and a feed roller 23 is rotated forward for a predetermined time. With the rotation of the feed roller 23, a paper P is fetched from a paper feed cassette 22 to be fed toward a pair of aligning rollers 25. With the reception of a VSYNC command, a VSYNC request is set. A data transmitting state is set, and a laser exposure is started so that an image pattern in accordance with video data VD0 is formed on a photosensitive drum 17. At this time, the paper P is brought to a stop when the leading end thereof reaches the pair of aligning rollers 25. After a fixed time elapses, an aligning solenoid 310 is turned ON, the pair of aligning rollers 25 start rotating, and the paper P is fed toward a transfer device 20. |
