The somewhat belled end of a plastic heat exchanger tube (2) passes through a bore in a plastic tube plate (1) and is frictionally gripped by the pressure of an extension (7) projecting downwards from a coupling element (3). A lateral flange (5) surrounding the element is in gas- and lip-tight engagement with the tube plate upper surface, possibly with an integral tongue (6) engaged in a circular groove. Between the flange and the projecting extension there is an annular recess (8,24) holding the outwardly bent end of the exchanger tube. The tube may hold a guide element (16) improving desired flow conditions, e.g. a helical spin, on medium flowing in the tube. To allow for mfg. tolerances in the tube-plate the bores receiving the coupling elements may have some spatial irregularity, in which case the entering coupling elements (3) are linked by extensible intermediatewebs.
